California...

I am trying to figure out my spring break. I am thinking of visiting my friend who is in the Marines in California, but i am freaking out because a non-icky hotel and a flight is close to a grand... :( And booking online really scares me.

I really want to see him. His name is Dustin and he was my high school sweetheart. We have grown apart in many ways but stayed very close in others. I don't want to be poor anymore so i can go see him. :( My mom is telling me to ask him to pay for it, but I think he is putting his ass out there for me in the marines and paying for my trip there... that is a little much don't you think. haha

I miss him. He came to Ball State when he got out of Boot Camp, and that was the last time I got to see him. We talked for hours but it didn't seem long enough. He used to be so loud and goofy, but now he is very collected and soft spoken... it is weird to me in a way... lol... But he seems more like a man.
I miss him, and want to see him.
He is leaving for Afghanistan in July, and I want to see him before he leaves. :(

If when my wife is sleeping
and the baby and Kathleen
are sleeping
and the sun is a flame-white disc
in silken mists
above shining trees,-
if I in my north room
dance naked, grotesquely
before my mirror
waving my shirt round my head
and singing softly to myself:
"I am lonely, lonely,
I was born to be lonely,
I am best so!"
If I admire my arms, my face,
my shoulders, flanks, buttocks
against the yellow drawn shades,-

Who shall say I am not
the happy genius of my household?

- William Carlos Williams

Thank You for Smoking

I read the syllabus about a day before our first class. As I skimmed over the Schedule for our semester I noticed something strange next to the dates of January 14th and 16th. Thank You for Smoking was what it said. I was very confused as to how this hilarious movie had anything to do with our class, but i did not question because it was a movie that we were going to get to watch over two classes (not that i hate class or anything(: ).

The day came for us to watch the movie and I was in shock as to how much this movie was relevant! weird huh? :)

So the story line summed up is about this man Nick Naylor who is a lobbyist who speaks on behalf of the Academy of Tobacco Studies and tries to protect the name of cigarrets. He said two quotes in the movie that really clicked with me. He said, "If you argue correctly you're never wrong," and " Convince them they are wrong then you are right." It is a way of manipulation that he used to do his job. He knew he was wrong but he knew how to be right.

Now this approach I would say is good to know how to use and how to spot it, but not the proper way to be a legitimate writer.

I have a thoery on why people think im so weird

So yesterday I saw these girls I dance with walk by me, and I qouted something from anchorman to them for shits and giggles...they just looked at me and kept a-walkin! how freakin RUDE is that! I heard one under her breath say, "what did she say?" and the other was like, "i dunno"...
This is not the only occasion this has happened at. HEHE It's like they think im... WEIRD or something! ;)

My friend Kim and I were walking and talking... and i noticed that about 50% of our conversation was of quotes from random movies that we thought were solid. also, a lot of our conversation was filled with talking about nerdy things(evolution, comic books, magic, boys, etc.) And it dawned on me... people just don't get my(and her) humor... well some at least. And those people who don't really get it seem put off by my... shall we say... personality.
This rude reaction is normally given to me by the typical female(girly is the only word to describe it!). But this brings the question up to me... Why?
Why do gals get so put off by me...?
I have all the parts they have. It's not like I am majorly different or anything. I like shoes (thats a lie... :) only ballet shoes). I like boys (even though my statues on facebook says I am in a relationship with a girl... tehe...)
my mom used to tell me that girls didn't like me because they are jealous of me! BAHAHA! and she always said i was the smarted in the class too... so her opinion doesn't count because she does the whole mom thing.
I mean i guess if we are so different... me not being really that girly... then there should not be a friendship-sincer there is nothing in common. But, I like meeting people and knowing about them and becoming their friend as they become mine... its fun... :)

soo... any sugestions on why girls don't really give me the time of day to be my friend or take advantage of the funny and stupid things i say!!!!!...?

some of my favorite things. :)

Family-

music-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4a8Rv0RVSY ... Five Finger Death Punch! I really dig metal music. I grew up listening to it. This band has a lot of lyrics that move me, and that i can relate to.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMBgSfQI49E ... Dave Matthews Band! I started listening to DMB when i was about in 5th grade. I love the up-building beats and creative lyrics.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SFGmnJQ_BF0 ... Slightly Stoopid! :) This band is very very chill. this is the CD that i pop in to calm down and just be. hehe.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPY32WPMoRw ... ben harper! This man just knows how to work it. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAiHve2JZvU ... Regina Spektor! She is a very very witty woman. I don't really dig woman musician that much, but she has very touching lyrics and artistic styles of music.

Dance-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IOBglx2X3I ... ballet! i love pointe ballet! It is challenging and beautiful!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t05SItfEV8U ... hip hop! Now not gonna lie... I am a Ballerina. And until about two years ago i was not able to shake it in front of people. Now its getting better. :) it is really fun and exciting to perform and to watch.

Books-
Night by Elie Wiesel- This book is a true story about a man telling his story about when he was a boy in a Nazi death camp. This was a very powerful and informative book about the life of the Jewish communities in the concentration camps. It made the Nazi camps seem more real and personal, they were no longer something i just learned about in school.

Uriel's Machine by Christopher Knight and Robert Lomas- Since I was young I have been very interested in the meaning of life, religion, the end of the world, and the truth behind biblical evens. This book kind of ties evolution with christianity and many other religions. This book really helped me gather some theories on my interests.

The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks- This book is just abnormally funny. I strongly hate zombie movies, pictures, commercials, and anything that has to do or relate to zombies. And this book really gave me a humorous look at my zombie phobia.
